The Kentucky Lacrosse Foundation is committed to ensuring that more athletes have the opportunity to experience the game of lacrosse, regardless of financial circumstances. Through our scholarship program, we help remove barriers that may prevent players from participating and support the continued growth of the sport throughout the Commonwealth.
Our goal is simple: interest in the game—not financial circumstance—should determine who gets to play.
Who We Support
Scholarships are available to youth, middle school, and high school players across Kentucky, with a focus on:
Athletes and families facing financial barriers to participation
First-time players interested in joining the sport
Players in emerging or underserved communities
Programs working to expand access and grow the game locally
By investing in athletes at every level, we help create more opportunities for participation and long-term development.
What Scholarships May Cover
Scholarship funds may be used to help offset expenses associated with playing lacrosse, including:
Team and program registration fees
Equipment such as sticks, helmets, pads, and protective gear
Training, camps, and player development opportunities
Travel-related expenses for competitive play
Reducing these costs helps make lacrosse more accessible to athletes and families throughout Kentucky.
Building the Future of the Game
The Kentucky Lacrosse Foundation plans to begin awarding scholarships during its first year of operation, with funding made possible through donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events, including the Kentucky High School All-Star Game.
As the Foundation grows, so will our ability to provide greater support to athletes and families across the state.
